After a happy summer holiday, HNUSTers returned to school with amazement by the new campus environment and with ambition to be achieved in the new semester.
To Be a Better Self
Since the beginning of the new semester, Dai Jinwu, a sophomore from the School of Physical Education, has been preparing for his coming CET-4. To get a satisfactory grade, he made several strict requirements for himself: fully understand and translate the English texts, do listening practice every day and so forth.
As for the new semester, Dai is full of expectations. “Seemingly it’s early to prepare for the postgraduate exam as a sophomore, but chance favors the prepared mind,” Dai said. “I have determined to start from one of my major subjects Sports Physiology to pursue my dream.”
Fascinated by the seniors’ vivid descriptions of HNUST, Zhang Lei, a freshman from Xiaoxiang College, has made a promising vision for her college life. “I'd like to try my best for ideal grades and certificates. What’s more, I desire to make good friends and do some part-time jobs to enrich my college life.”
To Make My Own Contributions
Lin Yinyan, a new student cadre in charge of the Dormitory Department, was arranging tasks for the new semester. “We have drawn up detailed sanitary inspection regulations, aiming at helping the freshmen cultivate a good habit in housekeeping and making them feel at home as soon as possible”, she said
Members of the Military Training Corps were also preparing a new training plan for freshmen, because this year’s military training will play a vital role in the coming celebration of the 70th anniversary of HNUST.
Zhang Hongwei, a League Secretary in the class, made his determination in leading the right value development of his classmates and managing the class construction.
To Believe the Power of Unity
In the summer holiday, HNUST received a piece of good news that Mu Jin Supporting Education Group and English Language Art Association were awarded the national honorary title of “Best Student Association” and “Excellent Student Association” respectively.
In addition, members of Tian Yalu Literature Club were also busy collecting valuable experience from senior students for the freshmen so that HNUSTers can make progress together, because they believe that unity means strength. Only with our concerted efforts can HNUST scale new heights.
