CSC Approves HNUST for International Cooperation Training Program for Innovative Talents

China Scholarship Council (CSC) recently published the "Notice on Determining the Funding Project for the 2024 International Cooperation Training Program for Innovative Talents." The program has extended its support to Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) for the first time.

The approved program, titled "Advanced Material Design and Green Chemistry Innovation Leading Talent Training Project", is a collaborative effort between HNUST and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia, as well as University of South Africa. This project encourages the joint training of doctoral students, researchers and visiting scholars, providing HNUST's faculty and students with exceptional academic resources and research opportunities. The project is scheduled to span three years, from 2024 to 2026, and its success relies on effective project execution, management, and the careful selection of individuals by the participating universities. To apply for participation in this project, individuals in relevant disciplines may complete the online application process. The application will be divided into two batches: the first batch will take place from March 1st to 10th, and the second batch will occur from September 1st to 10th. Interested participants can register online at the National Scholarship Information Management Platform (http://sa.csc.edu.cn/student) within the specified time frame.

The aim of the CSC's International Cooperation Training Program is to facilitate international cooperation by addressing the pressing needs of the country while emphasizing the unique characteristics and strengths of the participating institutions. For foreign partners to be eligible for the project, they must be renowned universities, scientific research institutes or units that possess advanced expertise in the relevant disciplines. The project supports the advanced universities cooperation between China and foreign counterparts that are either world-class institutions or possess significant expertise in mutually beneficial disciplines. The project follows a management mode where the project is established first, and then participants are selected and dispatched accordingly. Approved projects have a duration of three years, during which the State Scholarship Fund provides subsidies for round-trip international travel expenses and scholarships for project staff within the designated subsidy period.
