A few days ago, the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued the Notice on Announcement of the List of National and Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Sites in 2020. Of the undergraduate majors in HNUST, nine were selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, ranking third among the provincial universities. Up to now, a total of 14 majors in HNUST have been approved as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites while another 35 majors have been approved as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites.

List of Top Undergraduate Major Construction Sites in HNUST in 2020

Since October 2020, in accordance with the spirit of such documents as the Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on Implementing the ‘Double First-class Major Program’ for the Construction of First-Class Undergraduate Majors, HNUST has started the application of the national first-class undergraduate majors in 2020. After four application and review links including the recommendation of schools, 25 majors were recommended as the 2020 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and finally 9 majors were approved.

In recent years, HNUST has attached great importance to the construction of undergraduate majors, and actively worked out the overall plan for the construction of national and provincial first-class majors. Focusing on the national and regional development strategies, aiming at creating ‘First-Class Undergraduate Education’, HNUST will reach the optimization of major structure and the improvement of major connotation. HNUST has successively issued the Action Plan for First-class Undergraduate Education (2019-2022) and the Implementation Plan for First-class Specialty and First-class Curriculum Construction. Then HNUST formulated the Outline of Undergraduate Education Quality Standards. In the next step, HNUST will take this opportunity to comprehensively implement the project of upgrading the major construction, in order to promote the connotative development of major quality with professional certification, and lead the continuous improvement of the quality of personnel training in HNUST with first-class undergraduate major construction.
