On September 1st, HNUST convened a meeting on the opening of the fall semester. During the meeting, leaders of HNUST outlined their respective responsibilities and plans for the new semester.

Jiang Lizhong, President of HNUST delivered a special report, reviewing the progress of HNUST's work since the Third Party Congress. Jiang Lizhong pointed out that HNUST is currently facing new opportunities and challenges. Compared with other universities in and out of the province, we still face challenges in some areas such as the structure of talent training, academic strength, quality of talent cultivation, and scientific innovation capability. We need to work on attracting more high-level talents, expanding our resources, and optimizing our institutional settings. Focusing on key areas, addressing shortcomings, and improving weaknesses is necessary. In the next step, HNUST aims to build a high-level comprehensive university, focusing on deepening comprehensive reform, optimizing and adjusting team building, enhancing the quality of talent cultivation, enhancing our research excellence, and strengthening the responsibilities of the school with functional departments, disciplines and colleges, faculty, and students. Emphasis will be placed on strengthening the construction of the organizations, systems, funding resources, research facilities, and environments. This will enable active contributions towards achieving the goal of contributing to the successful culmination of the 14th Five-Year Plan and planning for the 15th Five-Year Plan.
