Recently, All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) announced the list of March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter. Zhou Yukun, battalion chief of Fire and Rescue Brigade in Zixing City, Chenzhou, Hunan Province, and HNUST alumna majoring in Computer Science, graduate of Class of 1996, was awarded the title.
On March 14th, Huang Fang, Secretary as well as President of the Leading Party Members’ Group of Women’s Federation of Hunan Province, and HNUST alumna majoring in geography in 1989, went to the city fire brigade to award Zhou Yukun the certificate and medal of honor of March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter, in recognition of Zhou’s contribution and the strength of women.
In her 23 years of work for the fire service, Zhou has shown dedication and commitment to her role, which sets a good example. Huang Fang awarded the prize to Zhou and encouraged her to keep going.
Zhou Yukun, in her career, has joined 700 relieve activities. She finished major rescue tasks in districts and counties of Chenzhou, thus successfully protecting people’s lives and property. Zhou was a delegate to the 20th National People’s Congress, and was honored with two individual Merit Citation Class III and excellent honorable titles at national and provincial levels.
