Liang Hongjun, Deputy Director of the Logistics Department of HNUST, told reporters that the University references the dining rate of three meals per day and the average consumption of each meal to decide the funding candidates. Liang believes that this invisible support can protect the self-esteem of students with financial difficulties.

The Student Affairs Office will verify the shortlist. The school official said, “The statistics of the dining consumption data will also be used as one of the grounds for the evaluation and adjustment of students with financial difficulties.” HNUST will irregularly check the relevant information of the recipients through a variety of means and strive to send dining subsidies to students who have genuine financial difficulties.
