School of Marxism accelerates the reform and innovation of education, starting the meaningful ideological and political theory courses during the novel COVID-19 outbreak.
Turn the Crisis Into a Chance
Facing the challenges from online teaching, the School of Marxism made teaching plans of ideology and political theory courses during the outbreak, and asked each Teaching and Research Department to give ideology and political theory course on relevant network platforms. In charge of the provincial quality open online courses, Huang Aiying put forward the “trilogy” of students’ self-study, teachers’ online teaching and teacher-student interaction. Meanwhile, she organized teachers to optimize their quality courses.
Teachers of Introduction Teaching and Research Department connected the Introduction classes with President Xi’s deployment. They started the first online teaching with the topic of winning the battle against the epidemic.
Principle Teaching and Research Department led to a heated discussion among students about "World View, Methodology" and "The real soul of Material View" and so on against the backdrop of the epidemic.
Outline Teaching and Research Department teachers elaborated every online ideological and political theory course. In the public school class, Ding Guixin and Liang Changping guided students through questions of “Why is the Communist Party competent?” and "Why does socialism work?”
Make Anchors “Influencers”
An ideological and political teacher who can accurately grasp the liveliest teaching material during Chinese people’s struggle against the coronavirus nationwide, get modern young students’ thoughts and respond timely to their care will become an “Internet celebrity” teacher.
Ideological and political teachers generally reflect that students should all have a say, not just one. To attract fans, it’s necessary for teachers to learn the skills from Internet anchors to enhance the fun and attraction of online classes.
The online lessons of Tang Jiahai, Zhong Sheng, Xiao Dongmei and Zhou Wenbin are popular with students, and they admit that online lessons have benefited them a lot.
Let MOOC Become “Admirable” Lessons
As MOOC and online “Golden Course” pop up, it’s common that students take online lessons. However, this sudden epidemic has pushed forward the development of comprehensive online education. But are teachers and students really ready for this teaching revolution?
In the regard, ideological and political teachers’ live-streaming classes give the answer.
MOOC means the massive open online course, and it also contains the meaning of creating enviable and admirable courses, with the essence of openness. Both teachers and students must change their ideas as soon as possible, push ahead with transformation, and become the constructors of MOOC and the ones who are really admirable for those lessons.
A revolution in teaching and learning is quietly underway in the battle against COVID-19. The brilliant live show of the ideological and political courses broadens a new horizon of teaching reform and opens up a new field of teacher-student interaction.
