On the evening of August 30th, the large-scale original drama “Deep Sea Pioneer” performance was staged at Hunan Grand Theatre. The drama was created and rehearsed by Hunan Opera Theatre, and jointly produced by Hunan Performance Group, Hunan Association for Science and Technology, and Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST). Professor Wan Buyan and his family, representatives from the “deep-sea” team, industry experts, officials from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and other departments watched the performance and participated in the seminar.

Based on the “Role Model of the Times” Wan Buyan’s experience, the play “Deep Sea Pioneer” grasped the spirit of his relentless dedication to leading the research group, advancing technology, and nurturing talent. It also portrayed Wan Buyan as a scientist and educator model in the new era. The performance was so spectacular and impressive that it made a profound impression on the audience. And Professor Wan Buyan expressed his overall approval of the production.

On the morning of August 31st, the seminar of the play “Deep Sea Pioneer” was held, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Eighth Vice-Chairman Zhong Chengxiang, Chairman of the Chinese Drama Association Lin Yongjun and many experts inside and outside the province participated. The person in charge of the Provincial Performing Arts Group introduced the creation and rehearsal of “Deep Sea Pioneer”. Experts in attendance believe that the play’s creation and rehearsal are of great practical significance and educational value for vigorously carrying forward the spirit of scientists and educators in the new era. We look forward to continuing to polish the play and turn it into an excellent work with deep thought, exquisite art and well-made.
