From November 22nd to 24th, the National Coal Industry Award Conference for Teaching Masters and Teaching Achievements was held in Guangzhou. The conference commended the individuals and teams who had made outstanding contributions within the educational realm of the coal industry in 2024. Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) has achieved remarkable success, garnering a total of 19 teaching achievement awards, comprising 2 special awards, 4 first-class awards, 11 second-class awards, and 2 second-class awards in the paper category. Among them, the teaching team of linear algebra and its applications was honored as the outstanding teaching team in the coal industry in 2024. Notably, two projects won the grand prizes, including: "Integrated Symbiosis and Multiple Collaboration: Twenty Years of Exploration on Practical Education Based on the Campus Biological Garden Base" of Wang Haihua's team and "Guided by Concepts, Driven by Demands, Multiple Collaboration, Exploration and Practice of the Innovation of the Talent Cultivation System for Mine Safety Engineering" of Luyi's team, have both been awarded the grand prizes.
It is known that the national teaching achievement awards in the coal industry are subject to review once every four years. The principal objective is to comprehensively arouse the enthusiasm for educational and scientific research within the coal industry and forcefully impel the reform and innovation of education and teaching in the coal industry.
