After a special semester, on September 7th, HNUST fully resumed offline teaching.
High Efficiency and Good Atmosphere
At dawn, students rushed into classrooms and take seats. "The campus remains the same, and the learning atmosphere is better than before," said Guan Ran from School of Business.
Chen Guoli, a student from School of Architecture and Art Design, appeared a little tired after class, “It’s been a long time since I have offline class like this. Studying online at home requires high self-discipline, and it’s difficult to understand knowledge in depth. The combination of online and offline study improves learning efficiency."
As a senior, Chen Miao from School of Business had different feelings. Speaking of offline learning, she said, “Offline information sharing and content discussion make us feel more competitive and deepen our learning content.”
Stay Close and Feel Real
Facing the craving eyes of students, Peng Caixia, a teacher of School of Foreign Studies, said, “Only when I teach you face to face can I feel that I’m actually teaching. When I faced the computer screen and had class online, I seemed to be talking to myself, and I didn’t know whether students understood it or not.”
Looking at the students in the classroom, Yu Jianyong, a teacher of School of Computer Science and Engineering, felt cordial and familiar. He said, "Online teaching can test students' self-discipline, autonomy, and self-control ability more than offline teaching, as well as their self-learning ability."
Tang Jiahai, a teacher of School of Marxism, said," No matter what kind of method we take, the key to teaching is to help students understand, remember and use the knowledge. "
It is known that in order to implement the requirements of the Ministry of Education and reduce the impacts of the COVID-19 epidemic on teaching, HNUST officially launched online teaching course on February 24th. According to incomplete statistics, the number of online courses reached more than 1,700, and the teaching plan of the previous semester was successfully completed.
