35 specialties were selected by HNUST as the first-class specialty at school level, according torelevant documents , including the notice of the general office of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China on the construction of the “Double-10,000 Project” for First-Class Specialty, and the two relevant notices issued by Hunan Provincial Education Department and HNUST.
35 specialties, including mining engineering, will be listed as the first-class specialty construction points at school level. The project is required to make clear specialty positioning and regulate specialty management, whiledeepening teaching reform, strengthening the construction of teaching team and basic-level teaching organization, as well as promoting the quality of the cultivation of talents. At the same time, it should also be aligned with the national construction of first-class specialties, namely “Double-10,000 project”, promoting the specialty construction according to the aims and quality of comprehensive evaluation of specialties, engineering education certification or teaching profession authentication. Furthermore, science-based formulation of specialty certifications and assessment plans are required. What’s more, the aims of specialty construction should be established and within three years, these specialties should be subjected to certification according to different plans, batches and ratings.
