The 2019 College Student Table Tennis Competition of Hunan Province, sponsored by Hunan Provincial Education Department, was held at Hunan University of Arts and Science from September 18th to 26th. Under the guidance of the teachers, Hu Binliang, He Yang, Guo Qinglin and so on, HNUST contestants won three gold, two silver and one bronze medals, hitting a record high, which presented the best gift to the 70th anniversary of HNUST.
During the competition, 10 students from HNUST participated in several events including teams, singles, doubles and mixed doubles. And they won the silver medal of men's teams and the gold medal of women's teams, the first-ever gold medal of teams at provincial level for HNUST. Besides, Zhan Henghao harvested the gold medal of men's singles and of men's doubles with Wu Yuanjie, marking the first gold medal of doubles in provincial table tennis competition. In addition, Liu Yantong pocketed the silver medal of women's singles.
