More than 30 overseas students went to Wuning, Jiangxi Province to experience Chinese culture from March 31st to April 1st under the organization of International Education College. Within the two-day tour, the students visited some landmark buildings and enjoyed folk performances.
Their first destination was the Changshui Bridge, which was supported by 18 piers engraved with exquisite paintings of Wuning cultural landscapes and natural scenery. Students majored in architecture could not help marveling at its creation.
Then the group visited Wenfeng Tower, a county landmark. They were curious about the design of its middle pillar carved with a giant dragon symbolizing success and great fortune. They were also attracted by the elegant decoration in the tower. Standing on the tower, the students admired a breathtaking panorama of Wuning County. They took pictures to capture the splendid beauty.
The next morning, students went to the Flower Valley where blooms of all kinds grow. However, what attracted them most was the local flower festival. The local residents prepared some folk performances such as tea-picking opera, drumming songs, and flowers worship activity. After the performances, students surrounded the performers enthusiastically to take pictures and consult singing arts.
In the end, an organizer concluded that, through this cultural experience, overseas students had a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, which was beneficial for their study and life in China.
