In January 2024, Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Hainan Provincial Department of Science and Technology to set up the Sanya Institute in Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City.The research team of HNUST will be located in the city, to conduct research and development of marine equipment and transfer of research findings.
