HNUST Student Won the Second Prize in the National Contest


 
 

On September 23rd, the First National Japanese Speech Contest co-sponsored by the Japanese Group of the ELT Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education and the College Japanese Teaching Research Association came to a successful conclusion in Xuchang, a renowned historical and cultural city. Zhao Qin, a student from the Business School of our university, won the second prize, and her instructor Tong Jiangning, a teacher from the School of Foreign Studies, gained the honor of Excellent Guide Teacher Award.

 

It was reported that the candidates from 36 Chinese universities reached the final after the preliminary contest. The final was divided into two parts: prepared speech and impromptu speech. Candidates could choose either of the topics, Japan (Japanese) in My Eyes or Japanese and Me in the prepared speech part, and the topic of impromptu speech was My Favourite Season. During the contest, the candidates pronounced perfectly, behaved calmly on stage, and were remarkable for both voice and facial expression as well as performed in their own unique styles. Their speeches were so passionate, pleasant and humorous that the applause enthusiastically burst out many times. Among them, Zhao Qin won the second prize for her excellent performance. 

 

Zhao Qin said that she had learned a lot from those outstanding contestants and realized her own shortcomings through this contest. As a result, she would study Japanese even further and try for a better result in the future.
