On December 5th, Professor Zeng Jianxian from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of HNUST was honored with the National Outstanding Teacher in Coal 2018 according to China Coal Education Association (CCEA).
The selection of national outstanding teachers in coal, in line with the relevant documents, was organized by CCEA and the National Coal Vocational and Technical Education Teaching Steering Committee. A total of 112 candidates were recommended by 60 coal colleges, universities, and training institutions. In the end, 30 teachers were awarded the national outstanding teachers in coal 2018.

Professor Zeng Jianxian, a Ph.D., is an Outstanding Young Teacher of Hunan Province, high-level talent of HNUST, and member of the Academic Committee of HNUST. Devoting himself to the research on ideas, contents and methods of teaching, he has published over 20 papers of teaching reform, compiled 3 textbooks. Apart from these achievements, he also has led and participated in 5 teaching reform projects. He has presided over 2 general projects by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and 6 provincial projects. Moreover, he has obtained over 10 patent authorizations, and published more than 70 research papers in domestic and international journals, over 40 of which have been enlisted in SCI and EI. Besides, Professor Zeng is a journal reviewer of domestic and international journals, such as Journal of Membrane Science, Journal of Hazardous Materials and Chemosphere, and expert in NSFC.
