In order to implement the spirit of the Party Congress about paying more attention to cultural construction, HNUST cooperated with Xiangtan Administration of Culture, Tourism, Radio, Television and Sport to exchange views related to the construction of campus culture. On the afternoon of June 1, Zhang Xianghan, Secretary of Party Committee of Xiangtan Administration of Culture, Tourism, Radio, Television and Sport came to HNUST to have an exchange meeting. Tang Yayang, Secretary of Party Committee of the school and responsible people attended the meeting.

Secretary Tang Yayang introduced the basic contents of the "353 Strategy" that put forward in the Third Party Congress of HNUST, explained university's ideas and work plans on strengthening the value guidance, optimizing humanistic environment, building characteristic cultural brands and future campus cultural construction, and made proposal of requests for the repair and protection of Confucian Temple in Xiangtan. Secretary Tang Yayang expressed his hope for Administration of Culture, Tourism, Radio, Television and Sport to give full play to the exemplary and leading role of universities in cultural construction.

Secretary Zhang Xianghan highly appreciated HNUST, as a cultural highland of Xiangtan City, for its outstanding contribution to the cultural construction of Xiangtan City. He stated that as a service organization with Administration of Culture, Tourism, Radio, Television and Sport a good job in overall coordination and service organization must be done and resources should be brought to meet the school's "353 Strategy" and cultural construction needs.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed enthusiastically, and put forward many suggestions on cultural creativity and so on, which generated many resonances in promoting regional cultural and artistic construction through exchanges.

At the end of the meeting, both sides reached a preliminary consensus on cultural and artistic cooperation and other related projects, and at the same time, the two sides established long-term working communication channels to further implement the strategic cooperation between HNUST and Xiangtan City.
