On the morning of May 5th, HNUST held a joint conference attended by faculty leaders, Party Committee members, delegation heads, and Special Committees directors. Tang Yayang, Secretary of Party Committee of HNUST, made important remarks and Liu Youjin, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of HNUST, presided over the event.

Tang Yayang expressed that the revision of the constitution was a success and of great significance to promote autonomous management of the university in accordance with the law, ensuring that democratic supervision by teachers, students, and society could be justified. In terms of the implementation of the constitution, he made three suggestions. First, much publicity should be given to encourage teachers and students to study the constitution and put it into practice. Second, the university ought to equip itself with comprehensive facilities and establish a well-organized system for effective implementation. Third, every department of HNUST should collaborate in taking concrete actions.

Liu Youjin said that the revision of the constitution was a major event of HNUST’s reformation and development. It was a necessity for further implementing the CPC’s educational policy of “cultivating people by virtue” and for promoting the modernization of the university’s governance system and capacity. Liu also held that every teacher and student should be aware of and adhere to the rules, and make unremitting efforts to build a high-level comprehensive university with distinctive characteristics and both domestic and international influence.

At the meeting, Yin Fengyu, Director of the Party Office and School Office, made an explanation of the Constitution of HNUST (2023 Revision).
