On 17^th March, the 15^th China Industry-University-Research Cooperation and Innovation Conference was held in Beijing. Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of the 13^th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Han Qide, Vice Chairman of the 12^th CPPCC and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Gu Shengzu, Vice Chairman of the 13^th CPPCC, and more than 1,000 delegates from industry, academia and research institutes of the whole country attended the conference.

Under the theme of "Industry-University-Research Focus: New Dynamic Energy, New Mode, New Industry", the conference discussed how to put the strategy of developing the country through science and education, strengthening the country through talents and innovation-driven development into practice through collaborative innovation between industry, academia and research, fighting the battle of the key core technologies, developing the new quality productivity, supporting and leading the construction of the modernized industrial system, and accelerating the realization of a high level of scientific and technological development and the promotion of the country's high-quality development. The conference expressed the need for self-reliance to promote high-quality development in China.

Tang Yayang, Secretary of the Party Committee of HNUST, and Wang Jin, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of HNUST were invited to the conference. At the conference, HNUST was granted the industry-university-research collaboration innovation and promotion award. In the meantime, HNUST was elected as an executive director unit for China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association (CIUR) and China Academic-Industrial Collaborative Innovation Platform. Wang Jin gave a speech as a representative of HNUST.

Advanced units and individuals that have made contributions in the area of deep industry-university-research integration in 2023 were commended at the Conference. To promote industry-university-research collaboration, a list of pilot innovation units was issued and support was given to build collaborative innovation platforms. And excellent achievements and platforms for 2023 China Academic-Industrial-Research Collaborative Innovation were launched. Additionally, China Academic-Industrial Collaborative Innovation Conference,release of Innovative Achievements of Industry-Academia-Research and Technological Requirements of Industry, the first Industrial Green Products and Design Collaborative Innovation Conference were also held after the conference.
