The terrorist attack in Kunming as well as the missing Malaysia Flight MH370 are the top concern of all the teachers and students in HNUST. As soon as the news came out, messages of hope and concern were left on various social networking sites such as Sina Weibo and QZone. On the weekends, teachers and students gathered together to pray for the missing lives.

        On the night of March 7th, over a hundred teachers and students gathered along the Minghu Lake, lighting candles and flying Kongming Lanterns to mourn for the 29 lost lives in the Kunming attack.

        On March 8th, 7:00 pm, another group of more than 80 students gathered in front of the school library to pray for the Kunming victims and also to pray for the safe return of the Malaysia Flight MH370, which went missing that day with 239 people on board including 154 Chinese nationals.

        "Best wishes to Kunming", "We want to pray for all the victims in this way", "May the dead rest in peace and the living be strong", "May good news come when we wake up tomorrow, and we are all flight receivers", "Wish everyone treasure the people around" ...are all the heartfelt wishes from the teachers and students.
