On November 17th, the inaugural Chuyi Vocational Education Forum was held at Hunan University of Science and Technology(HNUST).
The Hunan Chuyi Vocational Education brand, with its spirit and practice of "Patriotism, Curiosity, Entrepreneurship, and Industrial Prosperity," has nurtured countless high-quality skilled talents for the nation's industrialization and modernization endeavors. Deepening and innovating the spirit of "Chuyi" vocational education is at the heart of fostering a powerful momentum for vocational education reform, making it a cornerstone for the high-quality development of vocational education in Hunan Province.
According to reports, the Teachers College for Vocational and Technical Education of HNUST is committed to advancing the construction of vocational education hubs, exploring new models for training vocational and technical teachers, so as to cultivate a "dual-qualified" faculty members capable of leading the latest round of technological and industrial revolutions. Through these initiatives, the college hopes to continuously support industry-education integration, enhance the core capabilities of vocational schools, and promote synergy between vocational and general education. These efforts will help accelerate the development of a modern vocational education system at the provincial level while contributing to the country's goal of becoming a nation with strong vocational education.
The inaugural Chuyi Vocational Education Forum focused on the theme of "New Quality Productive Forces and High-Quality Teacher Training in Vocational Education." At the main forum, five experts, including He Zhen, Director of the National Vocational Education Research Institute at Beijing Normal University, and Xiao Fengxiang, Director of the Vocational Education Research Institute at Tianjin University, delivered keynote speeches on cutting-edge topics including industry-education integration, vocational-general education convergence and science-education fusion. In the sub-forums, experts from various institutions, young scholars, leaders of secondary and higher vocational schools, and outstanding graduate student representatives discussed high-quality teacher training in vocational education.
Cui Shufang, Director of the Teacher Work and Normal Education Division of the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, believes that the establishment of a vocational and technical normal college is a concrete step in implementing national policies, and he hopes that HNUST would leverage its strengths in engineering and the teacher education to further develop its vocational teacher training programs.
Guo Shiyin, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee at HNUST, stated that HNUST will uphold it fundamental mission of moral education while strengthening research initiatives. He emphasized that HNUST's vocational education programs will actively support economic and social development, foster individual growth, and serve major national strategies, thereby writing a new chapter in vocational education to advance China's modernization path.
The forum was jointly hosted by Hunan University of Science and Technology, Hunan Industry Polytechnic, and Hunan Chuyi Vocational Education Center. It provided a platform for knowledge exchange and experience sharing, injecting new vitality into vocational education both in Hunan Province and nationwide. This event marked a significant step toward the high-quality development of vocational education.
