The 2025 National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Surveying and Mapping, organized by the Education Committee of the Chinese Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography (CSGPC), recently concluded in Baotou, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Students from the School of Earth Sciences and Spatial Information Engineering of Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) achieved remarkable results of 3 Special Prizes winning a total of 3 Special Prizes, 5 First Prizes, and 12 Second Prizes. In addition, 2 HNUST teachers received the Excellent Teacher Award.
Since its inclusion in the competition catalog of the Analysis Report of Competitions of National University Students, the contest has reached its third edition this year. Today, it stands as the highest-level platform for college students across the country to showcase their scientific and technological innovation achievements in the field of surveying and mapping. The competition consists of three major events: the Surveying and Mapping Skills Competition, the Development and Design Competition, and the Scientific Paper Competition. It has attracted nearly 7,000 students from more than 400 universities nationwide to participate in the "cloud-based competition". In accordance with the competition rules, the winning proportions for the Special Prize, First Prize, and Second Prize are set at 5%, 10%, and 15% respectively.
