From September 25th to 29th, vice president Liu Youjin together with the delegation of HNUST, at the invitation of Purdue University Calumet and University at Buffalo, the State University of New York, had an inter-school exchange with the two universities for the purposeof advancing educational internationalization, strengthening connections with US universities and promoting cooperation them.
During the visit, vice president Liu had a friendly dialogue with his counterparts of the two universities. He briefly introduced the history, features and strengths of our university, and had a deeper understanding of school-running characteristics and discipline superiority of the two universities. The delegation visited the teaching and office buildings of both universities and had a discussion with the leaders of relative schools about student cultivation, teachers exchange scientific research cooperation, etc.
During the stay, the delegation paid a visit to Pro. Zhou Qian, dean of the department of mechanical engineering at Purdue University Calumet, director of the Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation, and a candidate of “Thousand Talents Scheme”. They came to an agreement on EITI program, and discussed about the introduction of overseas talents.
The visit was a complete success, which not only enhanced the cooperation between our university and US universities, but also promoted mutual understanding and exchanges. It played a key role in promoting our university ’s internationalization, deepening our educational reform and enhancing school-running standard.
It is reported that the leaders of Office of Development Planning and Disciplinary Construction, Personnel Office, and Office of International Affairs also participated the visit.
