On the afternoon of September 29th, the opening ceremony of the retired faculty health home was held in the “South Faculty Activity Center of HNUST”. Tang Yayang, Secretary of the Party Committee of HNUST and other heads of functional department of HNUST as well as all staff of the Retirement Office and representatives of retired faculty attended the ceremony. He Chunsheng, the retired Party Secretary and the Chief of the Retirement Office, presided over the ceremony.
Secretary Tang said that they built a Health Home specially for the retired faculty. First, it has showed the care and the love of the School Party Committee for them. Second, it aims to advocate the concept of health among them. Third, it is the proper description of building a happy HNUST from "HNUST in four respects”. At length, they would like to express their blessings to the retired faculty, wishing them well-being and longevity. Secretary Tang pointed out that this year marked the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which was also the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the implementation of the spirit of the Third Party Congress. Based on the concept of “HNUST in four respects”, HNUST will make persistent efforts for the well-being of its staff and meet their needs. HNUST will keep on striving to enhance the reputation of HNUST, and in the meantime continuously reinforce the sense of fulfillment and happiness of HNUSTers. Tang hoped that the retired faculty always keep healthy so that they can continue to make contributions and make joint efforts to write a new chapter of constructing a high-level comprehensive university which is domestically first-class and internationally influential with distinct characteristics. In addition, Tang also expressed his best wishes to all the retired faculty for the National Day and Double Ninth Festival.
On behalf of the retired faculty, Bai Xingkun took the floor, saying that the Party Committee of HNUST respected them politically and took care of their life and health. The retired faculty of HNUST can gain a strong sense of happiness with the health home built specially for them. Theyshould look after their own health and give full play to their advantages so as to repay the care and love of the HNUST’s Party Committee with concrete actions and make contributions to the construction and development of our university.
Tang Yayang, Li Lin, the heads of functional department and the representatives of retired faculty unveiled the nameplate of “healthhome” together. After that, Tang visited the health home with great interest and enthusiasm and had a cordial talk with the retired faculty and undergraduates from the Association of Caring for the Elderly.
