HNUST Secures First National Publication Fund Grant

Professor Li Dehui of the School of Humanities at HNUST has made significant contributions with his work The Revision and Enlargement on the Biographical Sketches of Authors Included in Complete Tang Prose. This scholarly piece has been honored by inclusion in the 2024 Program of National Publication Foundation. This marks the first time our university has been selected for this prestigious grant.

In his book, Professor Li revised and completed the biographical sketches in Complete Tang Prose, complied by Dong Gao. The work is divided into two main areas: "revision" and "enlargement". The "revision" part corrected errors related to the authors' names, pseudonyms, places of origin, and family backgrounds. And the "enlargement" part adds missing factual information, focusing especially on cases where the time period of the author or the authorship of the texts is unclear. Through meticulous verification of 1,000 volumes, 20,025 texts, and 3,035 authors, Prof. Li Dehui has created a comprehensive, accurate, clear and reliable collection of biographical sketches of authors in the Tang Dynasty.
