On the evening of December 31st, HNUST volunteer teachers’ team named Xin and Xin (which means sincerity and warmth) together with the Sunflower Children’s Choir, performed on the stage of Hunan Satellite TV's New Year' s Eve gala.
At the gala, the Sunflower Children’s Choir sang "Hong Shan Guo"(literally means red fruits in the mountain) with children. Some children were playing musical instruments, some singing songs and others handling with percussion music respectively. Their tacit cooperation presented a perfect performance to the audience who were all moved by the sight of children's innocent faces and tender voices.
Xin and Xin volunteer teachers’ team together with the famous singer Lei Jia performed "Ode to the Heroes". The girls of the team were in straight and tall standing with determination in their eyes, adding an appealing touch to the performance with the sergeants behind them. They also participated in the New Year's Eve chorus " I Love You, China ".
As the leading teacher and mentor, Wang Yulin accompanied team members to rehearse over and over again from beginning to end. Secretary of the Youth League Committee of HNUST Ma Binhui and Teacher Tang Cuiliu as well as Deputy Secretary of Qi Baishi School of Art, Tu Bo and Teacher Li Peirong of Dance Department in that school drove to the site, encouraging team members to present the spirit, power and splendor of the era implied in the song.
It was reported that, on July 12th, 2021, HNUST had established the “Sunflower” Children’s Choir in the Yong Fa Primary School in Dongkou County, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province. The choir co-organized by Xin and Xin volunteer teachers’ team of HNUST and the Yong Fa Primary School devoted itself to inspiring the children in rural areas, helping them build up their confidence and promoting their development in all aspects.
