The curtain on the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games was officially raised on February 4th and the sports gala drew a successful conclusion on 20th at the Bird’s Nest. The top-tier athletes from home and abroad gathered in Beijing, creating beautiful memories for the people around the world.
Located in Xiangtan, the hometown of the great man chairman Mao Zedong, Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) also boasts a batch of foreign students who closely followed the Olympic Games.
“First of all, I want to extend my congratulations and gratitude to China. Till now, we still cannot have bright prospects of the pandemic globally, but China has made the Olympic Games a complete success. I watched the live show of the opening and closing ceremonies and the snowflakes show which gave me a big surprise. It did make me recollect my homeland which is now covered by snow. And Bing Dwen Dwen, the mascot, is super cute. It has attracted the focus of the world and made itself the hit. This time, three Mongolian players attended the Olympic Games. All the athletes were doing great and I like Eileen Gu most. She is the champion of the women’s freestyle skiing halfpipe”, said Bazanya, the Mongolian student who studies for a master’s degree in Journalism (class of 2021)
However, the charm of the Winter Olympics is far more than the exciting matches. The wonderful performances of the opening and closing ceremonies, the high-tech facilities and delicious food in the Winter Olympic Village and the unique Chinese elements decorating the very winter gala all spoke the allure of the Olympic Games. The foreign students in HNUST said that the charm of the Winter Olympics was beyond praise, and China, as the host, made it a complete success and wowed the world again.
Though the Winter Olympic Games had drawn to its end, the spirit of the athletes to chase their goals bravely and the marvelous achievements of the Chinese government and its people to successfully host the Olympics in the post-epidemic era, and great dream of the world to construct the community with a shared future for mankind will be carried on from generation to generation.
