On the afternoon of April 21st, HNUST held a cadre conference in the lecture hall of Lide Building. The leaders of the Organization Department of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC attended the meeting, and there were other participants in the conference including the leaders of HNUST, the former leaders who had retired from the school-level leadership positions, all the department-level leading cadres, and the party representatives above the municipal level, deputies to the National People's Congress, members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and principal leaders of various Democratic Parties in HNUST. Zhu Chuanqu, deputy secretary of Party Committee and president of HNUST, presided over the conference.
Xiao Bailing, the leader of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC, announced the appointment and dismissal decision of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC: Tang Yayang was appointed as secretary of the Party Committee of HNUST and was nominated as the third Committee member and candidate for secretary of HNUST; Zhu Chuanqu continued to be nominated as the third Committee member and the candidate for deputy secretary of HNUST; Liu Youjin was appointed as the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of HNUST, nominated as a member of the third Party Committee of HNUST, and no longer served as the vice president of HNUST；there were the appointment and dismissal decisions of several other comrades as well.
In his speech, Xiao Bailing highly affirmed the hard work and important contributions made by the previous leaders for many years to the development of HNUST, and briefly introduced the work resumes and personal situations of four new leaders, Tang Yayang, He Zelong, Guo Shiyin and Xie Hui. She pointed out that this decision of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC fully reflected their great attention to and concern about the construction of the leading group and development of HNUST. The leading group of HNUST should firmly support and implement the decisions of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC and corporately lead the whole school's party members and all faculty members to work hard so as to carry forward the cause and forge ahead into the future. She put forward four hopes and requirements for the next step at the end.
Liu Deshun, the former secretary of the Party Committee, made his leaving speech. Liu expressed his firm support for the decisions of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC and extended a warm welcome to the new members of the leadership team of HNUST’s Party Committee. He believed that under the leadership of the Party Committee of HNUST, and with the joint efforts of teachers and students, HNUST will get better and better.
Tang Yayang, the new secretary of the Party Committee, made a statement speech. Secretary Tang expressed his heartfelt support and resolute obedience to the appointment and dismissal decision of the organization department of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC, thanked Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC for its trust and love, and thanked all teachers and students for their contributions to the development of HNUST. Secretary Tang made three statements: First, firmly follow the central government’s policy. Second, give priority to development. Third, take the lead in setting an example.
Zhu Chuanqu made a closing speech. On behalf of all the teachers, students and staff, he expressed his heartfelt thanks and high respect to the former leaders such as Liu Deshun, Chen Anhua and Hu Shiqi, who had retired from the leadership positions at the school level, and to the new Comrade Liu Yuwen for their great efforts and contributions to the construction, reform and development of HNUST. He also warmly welcomed the new comrades to work in HNUST. He hoped that all the teachers, students and staff would unify their thoughts and actions to the decision-making arrangements of the provincial party committee, and under the strong leadership of the school party committee with Secretary Tang as the squad leader, they would work together to overcome difficulties, creating new glories for HNUST and all the HNUSTers with practical actions, greeting the successful convening of the third Party Congress of HNUST with more outstanding achievements, and presenting gifts to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
