Recently, Publicity Department of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee has announced the list of the first batch of Lei Feng Models in Hunan Province. Professor Wang Yulin from School of Art of HNUST was on the list.

For years, Professor Wang has been conducting the left-behind children of the choir in Qidong county, Hengyang city, his effort helping them perform in more and more formal stages including Beijing National Centre for the Performing Arts and the 2021 Spring Festival gala. Since 2017, Professpr Wang has encouraged the children to chase their dreams in the wider world instead of the mountains.

It is reported that this batch of models were selected from people working in enterprises, schools, hospitals, voluntary service organizations and other grass-roots units, who stick to their posts, love their careers and make contributions to our society. They are not only the splendid models of developing and expanding the spirit of Lei Feng, but also predominant practitioners of the core socialist values. Taking the excellent deeds of Wang Yulin as an example, HNUST will carry out the activities of learning from Lei Feng on posts, consciously practice the spirit of Lei Feng, and strive to cultivate talents for the new times, so as to make new and greater contributions to the implementation of the innovation-driven strategy and the construction of a new modern Hunan.
