HNUST Named National Model University for Law-Based Governance
Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) was recently named a "National Model University for Law-Based Governance" by the Ministry of Education.
In recent years, HNUST has steadily enhanced its legal governance framework in alignment with national evaluation standards for higher education. Guided by its university charter, HNUST has refined its administrative structures and fully implemented the system of president responsibility under the leadership of the University's Party Committee. Furthermore, HNUST has fostered a fair, harmonious campus environment by promoting information disclosure, supporting democratic management, and strengthening key organizations including the Faculty Congress, the Trade Unions, the Communist Youth League and the Student Union.
To advance legal literacy, HNUST continuously integrated public legal education with institutional governance. Leveraging platforms such as its Legal Aid Center and Law Association, the University hosts a wide array of educational initiatives designed to empower faculty and students to better understand, respect and abide by the law.
HNUST has also broadened its collaborative governance approach by integrating campus safety initiatives onto the broader regional social governance network. These innovative practices have been highlighted by China Education Daily, serving as a national model for law-based governance in higher education.
Building on this honor, HNUST will continue to deepen its law-based governance, refine its modern university system, and lay a solid foundation for high-quality development.
