Xiangtan Party Secretary Visits HNUST Sanya Research Institute

On March 31, Hu Hebo, Secretary of the Xiangtan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, led a delegation to visit and survey the Sanya Research Institute of Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST). Liu Han, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Sanya Municipal Party Committee, and Xie Hui, Deputy Party Secretary of HNUST, accompanied the delegation.

During the visit, Hu Hebo listened to a report on the institute's development and highly praised its recent progress. He noted that HNUST has been highly proactive in serving national strategies. As the only university from Hunan Province to establish a presence in the Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, the University has underscored its strategic foresight and profound sense of mission.

Hu expressed his hope that the institute will leverage the University's disciplinary strengths and Hainan's unique regional advantages to pioneer a new model of university-local government cooperation, thereby injecting new momentum into the region's innovative development.

Positioned as a crucial platform supporting the Hainan Free Trade Port initiative. HNUST's Sanya Research Institute aims to implement the consensus reached by the Party secretaries of Hunan and Hainan provinces on deepening bilateral cooperation and advancing deep-sea technology development. Moving forward, HNUST will continue to fully support the institute's growth and promote deeper industry-university-research integration.
