CAE Academician He You on Frontiers of AI Development

On the morning of June 16, the Xiangjiang High-End Academic Forum was held at Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST). He You, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was invited to deliver a keynote lecture entitled "Frontiers of AI Development". Chaired by Jiang Lizhong, the Party Committee Secretary of HNUST, the lecture drew a wide audience, including members of the University Party Committee, leadership, administrative cadres, and faculty and student representatives from relevant disciplines.

As a strategic technology that will shape future, artificial intelligence has brought a transformative and long-lasting impact to spheres ranging from global politics to economies and culture. In his presentation, He You systematically reviewed the technological evolution of artificial intelligence since 1956, including its three major crests and two troughs, while thoroughly analyzing the core scientific principles and industrial forces that drove these historical shifts. Drawing on numerous real-world examples, he provided a map of cutting-edge research advances, key application directions, and future industry trends.

The attendees highly praised the insightful lecture, stating that it offers clear guidance for advancing the University's AI discipline, research innovation and talent cultivation.
