HNUST Wins 7 First Prizes at Hunan Provincial College Student Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Contest

On May 10, 2026, the final of the 4th Hunan Provincial College Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving and Emission Reduction was held at the Yuelushan Campus of Central South University (CSU). Out of 78 HNUST projects submitted for the provincial review, 8 advanced to the final, with 7 ultimately securing the first prizes. In addition, another 29 projects, including several from HNUST's Xiaoxiang College, were awarded provincial second and third prizes.
Hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, the contest was organized by the School of Energy Science and Engineering at CSU and co-organized by the Hunan Engineering Thermophysics Society. It attracted 1,285 entries from 54 colleges and universities across the province. After apreliminary online review and panel evaluation, 168 entries from 48 universities advanced to the final.
Aligned with the national "dual carbon" strategy of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality", this contest aimed to raise college students' awareness of energy conservation and environmental protection, while fostering their capacities for technological innovation and teamwork.
