On the morning of May 7, a delegation led by Prof. Zeng Jianguo visited Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) for academic exchanges. Prof. Zeng serves as the deputy director of the Management Committee of the National Germplasm Resources Bank of Chinese Medicinal Materials, and director of the Chinese Medicinal Materials Variety Creation Center of Yuelu Mountain Laboratory. Yin Shuangfeng, president of HNUST, attended the symposium, which was presided over by Yin Fengyu, member of the University Party Committee and Vice President. Heads of the Scientific Research Department, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and the School of Life Sciences and Health of HNUST, along with faculty representatives from related disciplines, also attended the event.

During the symposium, both parties conducted in-depth discussions on scientific research innovation and pharmaceutical research. They reached a preliminary consensus on cooperative strategies aimed at driving project breakthroughs by leveraging the Yuelu Mountain Laboratory.

President Yin extended a warm welcome to Prof. Zeng and his delegation, noting that this exchange laid a solid foundation for both sides to deepen scientific research cooperation. He emphasized that with a positive consensus reached, both institutions should actively promote the implementation of the cooperation. HNUST intends to  fully leverage its discipline strengths in chemistry, chemical engineering, and biotechnology by assigning key faculty members to the Yuelu Mountain Laboratory. This move aims to conduct in-depth collaborative research, promote interdisciplinary integration, share resources, and achieve mutual benefits, ultimately serving the national development strategy for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Prof. Zeng's team presented a special report on their ongoing research projects and fruitful outcomes. Prof. Zeng stated that the Yuelu Mountain Laboratory remains committed to the principle of openness by actively sharing high-quality platform resources. The laboratory aims to work with HNUST to ensure the effective implementation of their cooperation in collaborative research and joint talent cultivation. He expressed the hope that both parties will further consolidate cooperation mechanisms and jointly empower industrial development.
