HNUST Students Clinch First Prize at National University Students' Materials Analysis Competition

On May 31, the grand final of the 2nd 'FEMA-DINGHONG' Cup National University Students' Materials Analysis Competition concluded in Shenzhen. Five teams representing Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) delivered stellar performances, standing out among 304 finalist teams from 132 universities nationwide to take home one first prize, one second prize and three third prizes.


Guided by the National Advisory Committee on Teaching Materials Science to Majors in Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education, the competition, also known as the the Innovative Application Track of the National University Students' Metallographic Skills Competition, is widely recognized as one of the most prestigious and influential academic events in the field of materials analysis for Chinese university students.


The competition spans the entire lifecycle of materials analysis techniques, including materials design, synthesis, preparation, processing and in-service performance. It aims to drive teaching reform in materials science disciplines, enhance students' practical and innovative capabilities in analysis and testing, and cultivate high-caliber future talent with a global perspective.


This year's event drew a massive field of 2,078 teams from 225 universities across China, including top-tier institutions such as Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University.
