Four Projects from HNUST Win Awards at the 17th China Industry-University-Research Innovation Cooperation Conference

The 17th China Industry-University-Research Innovation Cooperation Conference was held in Beijing on March 15. Centering on the theme “Deep Integration of Technological Innovation and Industrial Innovation to Foster New Quality Productive Forces,” the conference featured keynote reports, case sharing, achievement announcements, and interactive exchanges. A total of 457 accolades under the 2025 “Science and Technology Innovation Award of the China Association for Industry-University-Research Cooperation” were presented, comprising 122 for Innovation Talent Awards and 335 Innovation Achievement Awards. The conference also announced a selection of newly supported industry-university-research collaborative innovation platforms and highlighted outstanding cases of deep integration. Chen Zhili, former Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, declared the conference open. Wan Gang, former Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of the China Association for Science and Technology, alongside Xu Qingsen, Vice Minister of Education and member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Education, and Hu Wenhui, Deputy Director of the China National Intellectual Property Administration and member of its Party Leadership Group, addressed the opening ceremony.


During the conference, four projects from Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) received high-level recognition. Among them, the project “Key Technologies for Trusted and Secure Transmission of Complex Dynamic IoT Data,” led by Liang Wei, won a first-prize Innovation Achievement Award. The project “Key Technologies for Intelligent Early Warning and Rapid Disposal of Coal Spontaneous Combustion in Deep Goaf with High Gas Concentration,” led by Lu Yi, secured a second-prize Outstanding Innovation Achievement Award. Chen Yuqiang was honored with the Innovation Talent Award. Furthermore, as a co-founding member of the “China Industry-University-Research Digital Intelligence Green Construction Collaborative Innovation Platform,” the University clinched another first-prize Innovation Achievement Award for a platform-recommended project titled “Research, Development, and Application of Ultra-Precision Grinding Processes, Tools, and High-End Grinding Equipment for Hard and Brittle Hard-to-Machine Components.”
