Xiaoxiang Pictures, known as the cinematic "Army of Hunan", has remained rooted in Hunan while serving the nation for over 67 years. The company has consistently followed a people-centered creative philosophy, dedicated to using light and shadow to tell Chinese stories and promote the spirit of the times. HNUST and Xiaoxiang Pictures have a solid foundation of previous collaboration, having co-produced the film Shine from the Abyss, which is based on Wan Buyan, a "Role Model of the Times." Additionally, they established the Li Jinhui Concert Hall at HNUST as the first "Sunshine Campus Cinema" among universities in Hunan province.

A representative from the Publicity and United Front Work Department stated that, in the next step, HNUST will implement Hunan Province's initiative of "films entering universities" by carefully selecting and screening a series of outstanding films on themes such as red classics, heroic figures, revolutionary stories, and patriotic spirit. This effort aims to deepen the practice of ideological and political education and enrich campus cultural life.
