HNUST Party Secretary Leads Delegation to Guangdong to Expand Graduate Employment

Jiang Lizhong, Party Secretary of Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) led a delegation to Guangdong Province from May 15 to 16 for a dedicated “Visit Enterprises and Expand Job Opportunities” campaign. The initiative aimed to align the university’s talent cultivation with corporate demands, strengthen alumni ties and foster strategic university-enterprise cooperation.


At the global headquarters of Midea in Shunde, Foshan, Jiang Lizhong and his team toured the exhibition zones dedicated to smart home technology, industrial technology, KUKA robots, and intelligent logistics. Li Guolin, Vice President of Midea Group and a 1994 HNUST alumnus majoring in HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning), briefed the delegation on the company’s technological innovation, industrial footprint, and talent requirements. Currently, nearly 100 HNUST graduates are employed across Mideas branches in Foshan. Their solid expertise and pragmatic approach have established a reputable “HNUST Talent Team” within the intelligent manufacturing sector.


During the visit to Yuanji Food Group, the delegation was accompanied by Yuan Lianghong, an HNUST Physical Education graduate (Class of 2013) and the founder of “Yuanji Yunjiao(Yuanji Dumplings), a Chinese dumplings and wonton chain. The delegation toured the companys Dumpling Culture Museum, Product Innovation Department, and Supply Chain Center to learn about the brand’s journey from a mere five-square-meter storefront into an industry leader nowadays with nearly 5000 stores nationwide. Currently, HNUST graduates make up approximately 35 percent of the group’s workforce, with more than 30 alumni holding core positions in R&D, operations, and supply chain management.


At the exchange meeting, Jiang Lizhong highly praised the alumni for their pioneering spirit and dedication to mutual success, calling them the University’s brilliant ambassador. He emphasized that HNUST and its graduates form a community of shared growth and aspirations. Moving forward, HNUST will further deepen its cooperate partnerships, leveraging alumni networks to drive talent cultivation and achieve win-win outcomes for the University, its alumni and partner enterprises. Jiang also extend a warm invitation for alumni to return to Hunan for investment and entrepreneurship.


The itinerary also included meetings with several other distinguished alumni working at high-tech and investment firms in Guangdong, including Guangdong Anxinjia Technology Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Wanmai Jiye Investment Management Co., Ltd.
