HNUST Wins Silver Award at First National University Innovation Transformation Competition

On April 19, the final round of the First National University Innovation Transformation Competition concluded at the Software Park Campus of Shandong University. The “Sodium-Carbon New Material” team from HNUST’s School of Materials Science and Engineering, stood out among 118 finalists to win a national silver award. Their project focused on high-rate anode materials for sodium-ion batteries.

The team’s project achieved a technological breakthrough in sodium-ion battery anode materials. Closely aligning with the national “dual carbon” strategy, the innovation holds broad application prospects. Team members expressed their determination to continue innovating in the field of new energy materials, accelerate the commercialization of their research findings, and support the high-quality development of China’s energy storage and new energy industries.

It is reported that the competition was organized by the Chinese Creativity Society (CCS) and co-organized by Shandong University and other institutions. Themed “Emphasizing Innovation, Focusing on Transformation, Creating the Future,” the competition highlighted the transformation of university scientific and technological achievements. It attracted participation from more than 300 universities across 34 provincial-level regions nationwide.
