On April 12, the Shenzhen Branch of Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) Design Co., Ltd. was officially inaugurated. Zhu Chuanqu, former President of HNUST and President of the University Alumni Association, attended the unveiling ceremony. This milestone marks a crucial step forward, reflecting the effective implementation and tangible results of the University’s industry-academia-research collaboration within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

During the event, HNUST Design Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with its newly established Shenzhen Branch. In his speech, Zhu emphasized that the branch should be grounded in Shenzhen and deeply engaged in the GBA. He noted the importance of seamlessly integrating the alma mater’s intellectual capital, scientific research, and talent pool with Shenzhen’s industrial and market strengths. The goal, he added, is to build the branch into a vital window for business expansion, a premier platform for collaborative innovation, and a strategic hub for talent attraction.

Zhu also urged Shenzhen-based alumni to strengthen ties with their alma mater through diverse channels, bring the GBA’s best practices and premium resources back to Hunan, and continue to demonstrate their strong sense of responsibility and deep affection for the university.

Hu Weipeng, President of the Shenzhen Alumni Association and head of the new branch, expressed his commitment to taking root in Shenzhen, building a robust team, and improving operational efficiency. He pledged to drive the branch’s rapid and sound development through pragmatic approaches and concrete achievements.

The ceremony was attended by heads of the Alumni Affairs and Domestic Cooperation Office, the School of Architecture and Design, and the School of Civil Engineering, as well as representatives from the Shenzhen and Guangdong Alumni Associations.
