HNUST Holds Ceremony for the Mid-Autumn Festival

On September 13th, Gulian Han Culture Club of HNUST held the ceremony for the Mid-Autumn Festival, in the form of worshiping the moon, to relive Chinese history and inherit Chinese traditional culture.
Fruits and moon cakes were neatly placed at the altar table. Male members were dressed in Shen Clothing of the Han Dynasty and robes while females in Beizi(a large loose coat) or Ruqun dress, wearing delicate flower-shaped hairpins. After the master of the ceremony announced that the deacon was in position, a few subordinate officiants, led by the officiant, came to the altar one by one. After that, the officiant devoutly recited to the moon in the moonlight and flickering candlelight. Finishing the recitation, the officiant, together with participants, worshiped the moon again.
Yang Zhongjing, a participant, said such an activity made a lot of sense because it could help more teachers and students have a better understanding of our traditional culture.
