The Culture and Arts Festival in a Sakura Month

On March 31st, with sakura dancing and tourists bustling, the 11th Culture and Arts Festival of Clubs is held near the Sakura Garden. Amazing performances given by clubs have successfully caught the eyeballs of sakura admirers.

A “dragon” and a “lion”, performed by members of the Dragon and Lion Club, are dancing to a festive music. They climb and jump, tumble and stand, wink and blink, winning applause and cheering time and again. Then, melodious singing and vigorous dancing take turns, making more tourists roar with laughter and whoop.

The crosstalk “Full of Knowledge” follows. Performers in blue gown, with their humorous language, funny movements and exaggerated expressions, have the audience rolling in the aisles. And then, the comedy sketch "Tale of the White Snake" given by the drama club wins high praise from the audience. Actors, playing roles of the opposite gender, reinterpret the classic tale creatively, engaging the audience emotionally with laughs.

The show comes to an end in applause while various activities continue to draw tourists’ attention, such as gift winning by scanning a QR code, quiz competing, and cuisine tasting. Li Wan, a tourist from Hengyang, enjoys the rich cultural atmosphere. She says delightedly, “I came to visit my friend. And the Sakura Festival is a surprise for me. The sakura is fascinating and the show is fantastic. I will come back with my classmates next year.”
