"Ding-ling-ling~", two golden lions jumped out, loveable and charmingly naive. The fish-shaped lanterns were suspended high; the lion dance team rose in waves; the swordplay team showed with ease and smooth. Instantly the stage turned into an ocean of red and yellow, bustling with excitement and pleasure. Members of lion dance team sent candies to the audience, bringing sweetness and happiness. The audience accepted the new year's greetings from the "little lion" delightedly. At length, the Chinese dragon dancers formed the shape of "2022" with the dragon and gave the best wishes from the Dragon and Lions team of the School of Physical Education to every HNUSTer.

The Continuing Education College of HNUST sang the song I Love You, China vigorously and enthusiastically. Students of the Qi Baishi School of Art danced on the footbridge in the moonlight. Children of Jiuhua Heping Ke Da Primary School (a previously affiliated school of HNUST), in a childish voice, read a lyric poem to send their gratitude to their mothers. Wearing Black cheongsam, with small red fans in their hands, the teachers of the union showed retro charm in a graceful manner. The show Moonlight of Sailim Lake combined the mysterious and clear voice with the dance of Xinjiang charm, bringing a wonderful performance. The tight melodies and cool movements of the Hip-hop dances, which intermingled tradition and modernity, cheered people greatly. The cross-talk aroused continuous laughter among the audience.

In the end, school leaders and teachers, as well as the international friends, came on the stage together and sang the school song to express their firm confidence in the construction of HNUST, good wishes for the development of HNUST, and best prospects for the new year and new journey.

Vice President Xie Hui spoke highly of the gala. She believed that it fully demonstrates the elegance of the teachers and students and highlights the culture of HNUST. She hoped that HNUSTers could enjoy the ascending and progressive study and life in 2022 through vigorous and determined endeavor.

“It’s a pity that the epidemic restricted me from returning my home, but the gala gave me a sense of belonging in the New Year. I am so grateful to HNUST, and I believe it will be even better in the future.”, said Nisso, a Grade 2019 architecture student from the School of Architecture and Art Design of HNUST.
