Focus on the 2022 China “Two Sessions”

Recently, the Fifth Session of the 13th National People's CongressNPCand the Fifth Session of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened in Beijing respectively, attracting worldwide attention. Teachers and students of HNUST also actively followed the trend of the Two Sessions and enthusiastically expressed their views.

"Premier Li Keqiang pointed out at the meeting that, it has always been in the course of meeting challenges that China has advanced its development. We the Chinese people have the courage, vision and strength to overcome any obstacle or difficulty. Internationally, China will make greater and newer contributions to world peace, stability and development, Li Wenhao, a teacher of the School of Humanities said. She proposed that she will be committed to conveying the openness in Chinese literature to students and cultivating students to become messengers of Chinese culture.

Education reform has become a hot topic for teachers of HNUST. “A strong country is based on the strong education”, said Chen Anqi, a teacher of School of Foreign Language Studies. She also mentioned that the government work report responds to many hot topics in education. New measures and suggestions will bring new direction and impetus to the development of education in the new era, which are worth learning by all teachers.

Yi Jingpiao, the instructor of Xiaoxiang College of HNUST, said that the college is actively echoing the calls from our nation and campus, ensuring pandemic prevention and control so as to fit the basic requirements about morality education. In the case of repeated epidemics, the Two Sessions can still be held as scheduled, which fully reflects China's strong appeal to do practical things at its own pace.

Ran Yantao, a student from School of Mechanical Engineering, recommended we’re supposed to uphold the core of ‘staying true to the original aspiration and founding mission’, strive to improve ourselves and make contributions to the country’s development. He believed that the Two Sessions stand on a new starting point, set eyes on the new era and look forward to new prospects, which truly inspires the young generation to forge ahead.

Concerning the hot debated issue during the Two Sessions this year--rural vitalization, Fu Qiwen, from School of Humanities of HNUST, said that rural vitalization is the new journey of addressing the issues relating to agriculture, rural areas and farmers. Implementing the strategy is vital to settle the principal contradiction of China in the new era, accomplish the ‘Two Centenary Goals’ and realize national rejuvenation.
