After five days of acute competition, the 9th Formula Student China Contest (FSCC), sponsored by Society of Automotive Engineers of China, came to an end in Xiangyang, Hubei on October 13. Weixin Racing Team of HNUST, led by the teachers of the School of Mechanical Engineering, won the first prize in efficiency test of FSCC.
Weixin Racing Team has prepared for the competition for half a year, collecting materials in their spare time, and both teachers and students involved in the work with their hearts and souls.
As a promising young team, Weixin Racing Team competed with 66 racing teams from other universities. With the school motto in mind, the members of Weixin Racing Team exchanged experience and techniques with other teams for future competitions while competing for the honor of HNUST.
It is reported that FSCC whose design content covers a wide range of knowledge is a competition of automotive design and manufacture for college students of automotive engineers and related majors. Based on the competition rules and racing cars’ manufacture standards, racing teams are required to design and manufacture a small-sized single-seat car that is well performed in acceleration, braking and operation in a year, and complete the whole or part of the competition.
